We chose this spot for dinner because it was next door to our hotel (Holiday Inn "resort") but WoW did we get a pleasant surprise! The food, the service, everything was excellent. Tasty Tex-Mex! Frankie was our server and he could not have been more attentive! Very kind, kept our drinks full and checked on us often. We ordered: Regular size queso A single beef crunchy taco (for the tiny human) Spinach enchiladas Shrimp, crawfish & spinach enchiladas All were delicious. The sauce on the enchiladas was YUM! The rice was fresh and tasty and the charro beans. Get them! SO good. Crispy taco was GIANT! Chips and warm salsa are complimentary and they also did not disappoint. Thanks Tortuga Kitchen! We will be back next visit to Galveston.
Excellent food, and excellent service by Larry. Nice staff with fun & casual atmosphere. Delicious spinach enchiladas, queso, kids chicken nuggets, tamales, etc. Everyone was happy. Will be back when visiting Galveston again.
This is our first time to the new location but it seems like everything came over from the previous. Food was amazing, service was excellent and the margarita just perfect. We beat the dinner rush but it still got quite loud.

This is my first time here so I'll try my best. The patio area provided a nice, shady place to eat. The breeze from the water made it that much better. Our waiter, Enrique was very quick, efficient and had a lovely personality. I didn't take a picture of my food or drink before I started (sadly, lol) but everything was DELICIOUS. I ordered the #5 lunch special (chimichanga, Mexican rice and beans). Everything was very flavorful and the lunch special has the perfect amount of food. Not too much, not too little. Just enough to fill you up. I had a frozen strawberry margarita ($5), and it was tasty. Very refreshing to have along with my food. I'll definitely be visiting Tortuga again in the near future to try other things from the menu. I recommend.
